Chinook’s Edge School Division seeks two public members for its Audit Committee to enhance financial oversight and accountability. Candidates must hold an accounting designation and be independent from the Division.
The Audit Committee will meet a minimum of once per year to support the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent of Schools. This role is crucial in overseeing the financial reporting process and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations surrounding the Division’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate financial oversight with the Board and Superintendent
• Assess internal controls over financial reporting
• Engage in the audit process and its assessment
• Ensure adherence to financial compliance laws
• Participate in annual meetings of the Audit Committee
Requirements:
• Must possess an accounting designation
• Independent from the Division and its audit firm
• Committed to supporting financial operations oversight
• Able to attend at least one annual meeting
• Provide a letter expressing qualifications and interest
