Corporate Controller at City

Join the City of Red Deer as a Corporate Controller to drive financial governance and support organizational growth in a term position. Collaborate with the CFO on the Financial Roadmap and strategic initiatives.

In this management role, you will work closely with the Section Manager of Financial Business Advisory Services and the CFO. Your leadership will shape corporate financial services, focusing on policy updates, compliance, and risk management. This role demands robust expertise in financial systems, municipal budgeting, and managerial skills to oversee financial operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct financial policy planning and execution

• Ensure compliance with MGA, GAAP, and PSAB

• Optimize stewardship of corporate assets

• Lead budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management

• Manage financial systems and technology strategy

Requirements:

• Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA)

• Experience in computerized accounting environments

• Knowledge of municipal budgeting processes

• Strong interpersonal and managerial skills

• Proven project management experience
