Ensure effective management of emergency services as the Assistant Deputy Chief in Red Deer.
Your role will encompass strategic operations, staff leadership, and community partnerships.
This position is vital for the leadership team within Red Deer Emergency Services, focusing on program management and compliance. You will manage diverse functions, including labour relations and emergency operations. Strong financial acumen and communication skills are essential for promoting integration with the City of Red Deer’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and develop branch personnel effectively
• Plan and implement operational programs
• Control budgets and oversee resource allocation
• Handle employee grievances and relations with HR
• Act as strategic advisor during incidents
Requirements:
• Over 8 years of emergency services experience
• Two-year diploma in Fire Service Administration required
• Q certification for Emergency Fire Dispatch preferred
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
• Financial expertise in budgeting and resource management
