Your Role
Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager with the Alberta Team in our Edmonton office!
Our Assistant Project Managers get the opportunity work with the best in the industry and to develop their skills on a diverse range of projects that vary in scope and complexity with the Alberta Business unit.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate experience supporting projects varying in scope and complexity with depth related to fit-up projects, renovation and commercial mixed-use environments.
Responsibilities
Work alongside experienced project managers to learn the keys to client satisfaction and successful project deliveryProvide project support to the Project Manager(s) including schedule updates, progress reports and preparation of tender and contract documentsEngage in on-site organization of contractors and consultantsAttend project and site meetings to capture action itemsProvide a communication path between the Project Manager(s) and contractors, consultants and suppliersProvide relief support on other projects when available to do soEnsure that project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management SystemQualifications
A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture or construction management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)A minimum of 1 - 3 years of project coordination experience supporting projects of varying size and scope ideally in retail fit-up/renovation & expansion projects and commercial mixed-use environmentsActively working towards obtaining the Project Management Professional Designation (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.Previous exposure to consultant and design management, construction contract administration and project financial an assetAn understanding of project delivery models, including design-build, construction management, design-bid-buildExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsA results-oriented approach with the ability to take responsibilityExceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlinesStrong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applicationsBase Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
