Position: Food Manager (Temporary) - Deer Park - Central Alberta Co-op

Job Description

We’re actively seeking a temporary Food Manager to become part of our dynamic team at our Deer Park Food Store located in Red Deer.

Position: Food Manager

Term: Temporary position until approximately July 16, 2027 (maternity leave coverage)

Full-time: 40 hours per week

Availability: Weekdays and weekends – mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, administer and be responsible for sales, margin, expenses, inventory and SPEH of all the food stores.
  • Ensure food managers adhere to established standards, including safe food handling & sanitation, merchandising, signage, staff appearance housekeeping, health and safety and loss prevention.
  • Assist and lead in marketing efforts, set advertising standards and create innovative marketing plans.
  • Assess the food division performance, solving customer issues and allocating resources.
  • Ensure proper appearance of all facilities, equipment, and image checklist.
  • Assist and lead in the preparation of annual business plans and budget and ensure all paperwork is done timely, accurately and meets policies and procedures.
  • Keep familiar and up to date with current and new products on the market.
  • Other duties as required by the Division Manager.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Business related education would be an asset.
  • Coaching and training skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
