    JOB SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Chief Field Operations Officer, the JATEC Construction Manager is responsible for managing the field operations of a long-term projects within Alberta, mainly south. This person must deliver results in safety, quality, productivity, relationship building, and learning and growth while overseeing multiple staff on job site locations. The Construction Manager would be expected to travel to Edmonton and other remote sites within Alberta.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Lead, schedule, and supervise crews to deliver results on the project.
    • Administer kick of meetings with PM/Safety/Procurement/Operations.
    • Safe planning and completion of project deliverables according to legislation and HS&E Program.
    • Analyze and interpret blueprint specifications to ensure quality installation and maintain quality assurances on installation.
    • Manage crew hours of work for maximum productivity and cost effectiveness.
    • Create resource plans and effectively, coordinate, and manage resources such as people, materials, and equipment.
    • Organize job tasks and people to ensure effective workflow and task transitions.
    • Manage performance of teams according to JATEC values, policies, and expectations.
    • Provide or coordinate technical training for employees and develop leaders.
    • Ensure effective communication between stakeholders and staff using appropriate channels.
    • Review and approve accurate hours of work of employees on job sites.
    • Coordinate project material ordering from procurement plan and release of site materials that match the schedule and forecasting.
    • Ensure accurate reporting and documenting all aspects of project (safety, quality, performance).
    • Manage locate coordination requirements with other leadership - walkthroughs, renewals, and expiry.
    • Provide schedule updates, adjustments, progress reports for billing, and documentation on deficiencies.
    • Attend project pre-construction site meetings and pre-post inspection walkthroughs.
    • Document QAQC management, closeout permits, inspections and quality requirements for project.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • At least 10 years of experience in a similar supervisory role overseeing tradespeople and construction staff.
    • Any construction certified technical trade or knowledge is an asset.
    • Equipment operation is an asset.
    • Familiar with safe work procedures and practices and able to organize workflow processes.
    • Proficient at interpreting blueprints and directing a project using the information.
    • Proven ability to lead, train, and develop teams that deliver the best results.
    • Able to adapt to change and provide leadership through unforeseen challenges.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing several priorities and quickly apply solutions.
    • Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • Able to build relationships with managers, direct reports, and team members of all levels.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion with sensitive information.
