The Community Impact Centre Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Centre and provides leadership to the Community Support Worker team. This role is instrumental in shaping the Centre’s culture and environment, guiding staff and volunteers as they support guests participating in programs designed to reduce poverty and homelessness.
Reporting to the Community Impact Centre Manager, this position works closely with other departments to develop and deliver high-quality programs and services. The role involves crisis intervention and de-escalation as part of its core responsibilities.
- Oversee the operations of the Community Impact Centre
- Oversee staff including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management
- Provide leadership and direction to employees and volunteers
- Create an environment oriented to open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort
- Motivate and inspire team members to assess situations and make appropriate decisions to support guests
- Liaise with key departments (Shelter, Housing, Wellness, Employment, Volunteer Engagement, etc.) to explore opportunities for new or expanded programming & services to further support guests
- Assess community needs, develop and implement activities to respond to those needs
- Aid in designing programming that empowers vulnerable individuals and builds self-sustainability
- Build and nurture relationships with external partners and stakeholders
- Support the dignity of our guests by seeking to identify their needs in a respectful manner
- Assist with the cleaning of the site to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests, employees, volunteers, and visitors.
- Collects data and prepares required statistical reports on Community Impact Centre activities
- Monitor budget costs related to staffing and programming within the impact centre
- Develop Key Performance Indicators and assessment tools for various programs and ensure that these are recorded/met
- Ensure all materials and equipment needed for programs are in good working order
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Adheres to all Health and Safety protocols and procedures (e.g., incident reports, near‑miss reporting) and completes all mandatory training, including NVCI, Safe Talk, and First Aid.

- An undergraduate degree in Social Work or related field, or equivalent level of experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience leading community development initiatives
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with vulnerable groups, such as individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental illness, or addiction
- Knowledge within the field of community development and community resilience initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to engage, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse range of people from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Experienced with developing and encouraging staff to come up with creative solutions to complex challenges and problem
- Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently as required
- Skilled at multi-tasking, administration, and meeting facilitation
- Well-developed organizational, and time management skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated effective conflict management and networking skills
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability insurance, and a clean driver’s abstract
