Part-Time Community Support Worker

Make a difference in Red Deer, Alberta, as a part-time Community Support Worker with The Mustard Seed. This role emphasizes frontline social services and building relationships in a welcoming environment.

As a Community Support Worker, you will report to the Community Impact Centre Supervisor and engage in essential programs that alleviate poverty and homelessness. Your responsibilities include welcoming community members, assisting with front-desk duties, and fostering healthy relationships among participants, staff, and volunteers. You will also contribute to a safe environment by overseeing various activities and assisting in emergencies when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome community members and conduct program evaluations

• Create a respectful environment for all participants

• Provide non-violent crisis intervention when needed

• Assist in implementing community support programs

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Centre

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Social Work or related field

• At least 1 year of community development experience

• Front-line experience with vulnerable populations

• Knowledge in community resilience initiatives

• Strong interpersonal communication and conflict management skills
