OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Consolidated Gypsum Supply is a Western Canadian supplier of building materials. We are recruiting for an Outside Sales Representative to join our team in Red Deer. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Outside Sales Representative is responsible for growing and maintaining strong customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role focuses on generating new business, expanding existing accounts, and providing trusted product knowledge to contractors, builders, and commercial clients.
WHATYOU'LL DO:
- Drive sales growth and increase volume for assigned accounts within assigned territory.
- Solicit orders from both current and prospective customers.
- Proactively seek new customers.
- Build strong, long‑term relationships through regular calls, on‑site meetings, and responsive support. Travel is required.
- Carry out merchandising programs as directed.
- Identify customer needs, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that drive loyalty.
- Adhere to company policies and guidelines to achieve sales objectives and maximize profitability.
- Stay informed about market trends and recommend product additions or adjustments.
- Contribute to the development of sales forecasts.
- Maintain up-to-date customer records in compliance with company standards.
- Prepare and submit call and expense reports as required.
- Recommend new product additions and suggest modifications or discontinuations of existing products.
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as required.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- High school diploma, postsecondary preferred.
- Previous sales experience (building materials, an asset).
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Excellent time and territory management skills.
- Base salary, plus uncapped commissions.
