Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Inside Sales / Order Desk Specialist with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the pipe, valve, and fittings (PVF) industry
.

This is a senior-level position for someone who has a deep understanding of the PVF business and is highly skilled in quoting, procurement, order management, customer service, and product sourcing
.

The ideal candidate is not only technically knowledgeable but personable, energetic, and confident
. You will be dealing with customers, suppliers, salespeople, and internal team members every day, so excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships are essential.

• Manage customer inquiries, quotes, orders, and requests from initial contact through completion.
• Prepare accurate, competitive, and timely quotes for pipe, valves, fittings, flanges, and related products.
• Provide expert product knowledge and recommend appropriate products or alternatives based on customer requirements.
• Review specifications, drawings, bills of material, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quoting and order fulfillment.
• Handle procurement and purchasing at a high level
  , including sourcing material, obtaining supplier pricing, negotiating pricing where appropriate, and confirming availability and lead times.
• Utilize established supplier and manufacturer relationships to source products efficiently and competitively.
• Maintain a strong understanding of PVF market pricing, availability, lead times, and product alternatives.
• Enter and manage sales orders and purchase orders accurately.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, warehouse personnel, outside sales, and management to ensure orders are processed and delivered efficiently.
• Follow up on quotes, purchase orders, backorders, and deliveries.
• Expedite orders and proactively resolve shortages, substitutions, discrepancies, and delivery issues.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and suppliers regarding pricing, availability, specifications, and delivery requirements.
• Support outside sales and management with product knowledge, pricing, sourcing, and customer service.
• Take ownership of customer requirements and see orders through to successful completion.

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the pipe, valve, and fittings industry.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial pipe, valves, fittings, flanges, and related PVF products
  .
• Demonstrated expertise in quoting and procurement
  .
• Strong understanding of PVF specifications, materials, sizes, schedules, pressure classes, end connections, and industry standards.
• Proven ability to interpret specifications, drawings, BOMs, and customer requirements.
• Strong understanding of pricing, margins, freight, lead times, and purchasing.
• Established knowledge of PVF manufacturers, suppliers, and distribution channels.
• Strong computer and ERP/order management system skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
