Westcan is currently seeking a Journey person or 3-4 th year Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, with a focus on Class 8 Vehicles and tanker trailers.
Shift: Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
About the position:
Licensed (journeyman) Heavy Equipment Technician certification (or equivalent)B620 tank experience (preferably)Valid Class 5 driver’s license requiredPrevious experience with off road equipmentBasic computer literacy with willingness to learn new skillsKnowledge and experience to identify underlying causes to solve technical issuesSelf-motivation with excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitaskAbility to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends, and on call after hours as requiredWhat you bring:
Interpreting work orders and technical manualsPerforming scheduled preventative maintenance servicesDiagnosing faults or malfunctions working with construction equipmentAdjusting equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems on truck and trailersTesting repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work done meets manufacturers’ specifications and legislated regulationsCompleting service repair orders and bill out all parts used on repair orderMaintaining a safe and clean work areaTotal Compensation:
