Labourer; Rigger

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support tower crane operations by rigging and securing loads
• Signal crane operator using hand signals and/or radio
• Inspect rigging equipment and ensure safe lifting practices
• Assist with material handling on site
• Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas
• Erect/install and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites
• Place and vibrate concrete
• Assist tradespersons such as carpenters and cement finishers in construction activities
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
• Assist demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean, and pile salvaged materials
• Operate jack hammers and tampers as directed
• Pump water
• Maintain a clean construction site
• Maintain organization of storage containers
• Additional duties as required
• Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner
• Adhere to Clark Builders’ policies and procedures

• Physical ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive motions, bending, crouching and/or kneeling for long periods throughout the day
• Ability to work long hours while completing repetitive tasks
• Capability to work outside in various weather conditions depending on the season
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner

• Relevant certifications considered an asset
• Strong communication and safety awareness
• Knowledge of safe rigging and signaling practices
• Previous rigging experience preferred
• Experience working in commercial/industrial construction is considered an asset
• Valid First Aid certificate an asset
• Valid Rigging Certification, ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is an asset
