About the RoleAmrize is looking for a Journeyman Millwright for our Exshaw AB Cement Plant. Millwrights are responsible for ensuring both breakdowns and planned maintenance on a variety of equipment are completed in an efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly way. This position is offered as a 12-month maternity leave coverage contract with a possibility of extension.
What You'll Accomplish- Identify and troubleshoot problems.
- Inspect and test equipment and make appropriate decisions.
- Operate light mobile equipment, motorized manlifts and overhead cranes.
- Be competent in PPW and add comments at the end of shift.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
- Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required
Work Experience:
Experience working with large industrial equipment.
Required Training /
Certifications:
Hold a valid Millwright Journeyman Red Seal ticket.
Additional Requirements:
- Own and maintain a complete set of hand tools, as required by the trade.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Be competent operating a motor vehicle.
- Work as part of a team and independently.
- Reliability and dependability.
- Successfully pass physical, D&A, and criminal background check.
- Capacity to work in confined spaces, working at heights, and in extreme environments (heat, cold, dust, etc.).
- Work shifts as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
