- Complete onboard and other logs
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Prepare accident reports
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification
- Driver's License (Class 3 or
D) - Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
- Forklift Operator Certification
- Ground Disturbance - Level 1 program Type of heavy equipment operated
- Backhoe excavator, loader
- Caterpillar (CAT) controls
- Bulldozer, large or small Area of work experience
- Ditching
- Excavation
