Become a vital part of Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools as a Heavy Duty Technician focusing on the maintenance of school buses and vehicles. Your expertise in preventative maintenance and repairs will ensure the safety and efficiency of all transportation operations.

In this variable role under the Shop Foreman, you'll be tasked with coordinating maintenance schedules and executing repairs on school buses and district vehicles. Your mechanical skills will directly impact the district’s transportation services. Key skills include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and maintaining accurate service records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute preventative maintenance on school buses

• Perform mechanical repairs and major overhauls as needed

• Respond to emergency service calls for buses or vehicles

• Recommend and stock necessary repair parts

• Conduct safety inspections and maintain records

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and Journeyman Automotive Service Technician Certificate

• Experience with heavy‑duty vehicles, especially school buses

• Understanding of workplace safety standards

• Ability to read technical documents and manuals

• Familiarity with diagnostics tools in vehicle maintenance
