Position Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic
Type: In Office – Full Time
About Our ClientOur client is a recognized leader in power generation and industrial engine solutions, supporting critical infrastructure across Western Canada and beyond. With decades of industry expertise, they specialize in manufacturing, servicing, and overhauling diesel and natural gas engines that power essential operations in oil & gas, mining, construction, utilities, and remote communities.
Key Responsibilities- Engine Diagnostics & Repair:
- Perform troubleshooting, overhauls, and repairs on heavy‑duty diesel and natural gas engines.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational reliability.
- Preventative Maintenance & Inspections:
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on industrial power systems.
- Complete detailed service reports and documentation to maintain compliance and service history accuracy.
- Rebuilds & Component Overhauls:
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild engines and major components to OEM specifications.
- Utilize precision tools, diagnostic software, and manufacturer manuals to ensure quality standards are met.
- Safety &
Collaboration:- Work closely with shop supervisors, service teams, and parts personnel to coordinate repairs and timelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused work environment aligned with company and industry standards.
- Education & Experience:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal preferred).
- 3+ years of experience working on heavy‑duty diesel or natural gas engines in an industrial or shop environment.
- Technical
Skills:- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with OEM engines (CAT, Cummins, MTU, etc.) and related diagnostic software is an asset.
- Key
Competencies:- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- A proactive, safety‑first mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
