As a key member of our team, the Journeyman Service Technician brings to life the ultimate service experience. The Service Technician performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses faulty operations and repairs new, pre‑owned, and customer vehicles. They will identify mechanical problems using computerized equipment and communicate effectively with advisors and management to complete work orders in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Inspect and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment on new, pre‑owned, and customer vehicles, and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast of rapidly changing technology.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Strong automotive background.
- First Aid and WHMIS an asset.
- Team oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Working knowledge of shop equipment.
- Must be willing to submit a background check prior to employment.
