Maintenance Technician Polytechnic

Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a dedicated Assistant Residence Maintenance Technician to ensure optimal living conditions in residence. This full-time role involves repairing plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues promptly to serve students and staff effectively.

In this permanent, full-time position, you will assist the Resident Maintenance Technician, engaging in both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks. Essential skills include plumbing, electrical repairs, and carpentry knowledge, with a focus on quick response to maintenance requests. You will play a vital role in maintaining residences, handling appliance repairs, and assisting with setup for resident events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff

• Repair plumbing systems including sinks and toilets

• Perform carpentry tasks such as drywall repair

• Handle electrical repairs for light fixtures and outlets

• Assist with pest control and maintain common areas

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Basic knowledge of HVAC and water tanks

• Completion of a Criminal Record Check
