Red Deer Polytechnic Skate Sharpener Attendant

Become a vital team member as a Skate Sharpener Attendant at Red Deer Polytechnic! This hourly position involves skate sharpening and equipment maintenance, supporting our Kings and Queens hockey teams.

As part of the Events & Community Engagement team, you will ensure the cleanliness of the equipment area. General maintenance and equipment repairs are key responsibilities, and safety compliance is crucial in your role. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in athletics and possibly some experience with skate sharpening.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sharpen skates for hockey players

• Maintain a clean and organized equipment area

• Conduct necessary equipment repairs

• Adhere to safety policies and regulations

• Complete additional tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Background education of less than high school diploma

• Experience with skate sharpening preferred

• Interest or knowledge in athletics

• Familiarity with Red Deer Polytechnic setting is advantageous

• Availability for approx. 4 hours per week
