The Opportunity - Service Worker, Facilities

Service Worker 3
The Service Worker 3, Facilities Maintenance provides comprehensive facility maintenance, repair, and operational support services for various buildings across the Olds College campus. The role is focused on maintaining safe, functional, and aesthetically sound facilities while proactively identifying hazards and delivering exceptional customer service to the campus community.
Key
Job Functions:
Facilities & Operations Support
Respond promptly and effectively to day-to-day service calls routed through the facilities management office.
Safely move heavy equipment or furniture across campus zones as requested by the Service Manager.
Perform operational snow and ice removal to maintain safe pedestrian pathways and campus entryways.
Support daily Shipping and Receiving infrastructure workflows when facility demands necessitate manual assistance.
Maintenance & Repairs
Install, maintain, and repair drywall, cabinets, doors, windows, tables, planters, furniture, tile, and paint across campus structures.
Cut, shape, fabricate, and alter materials to fit localized repair specifications.
Document all completed repairs and maintain thorough, accurate, and legible operational records.
Health & Safety Compliance
Execute all manual tasks, lifting, and machinery operations in strict accordance with safety best practices.
Securely maintain, inspect, and keep all assigned tools and heavy equipment in safe, prime operating condition.
Conduct regular, documented Health and Safety building walkthroughs to identify and address active hazards or required structural repairs.
Support waste management initiatives and safely handle, isolate, and dispose of Bio-Hazard materials exactly per strict guidelines.
Trades Assistance
Collaboration:
Work directly under the guidance of certified tradesmen to support complex electrical, plumbing, and mechanical construction.
Professionalism & Customer Care
Present a highly professional appearance and demeanor, communicating clearly with customers about work completed.
Make daily operational decisions with the College's interests in mind, demonstrating inclusivity, openness, transparency, civility, and respect.
Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge
Required:
Skid Steer, Heavy Equipment Operator, Forklift, as a minimum
