JOURNEYMAN HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC – RED DEER (RDC)The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical workings of all vehicles.
Responsibilities:- Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
- Read diagrams/schematics for work procedures
- Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery in a safe manner
- Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment
- Service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and perform other routine maintenance work
- Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations
- Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced operators, or apprentice maintenance personnel
- Operate a service truck to support field operations
Skills:
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic (or) Journeyman Millwright certification is required
- CVIP is considered an asset
- Valid Class 1 license preferred; will consider Class 3 or 5
- Heavy Equipment Technician will be an asset
- Safe driving skills: driver’s abstract will be requested
- Physically fit – heavy lifting required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
