Job Description
Faculty deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Responsibilities include facilitation of activities and discussions that engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship to students.
- Interpret and administer assessments, offering constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes.
- Integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences.
- Act as ambassadors for their programs and TSTC, demonstrating TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction and facilitate student learning.
- Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans.
- Organize daily classes using a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
- Fulfill assigned schedule and maintain accurate student records.
- Maintain an instructional environment with emphasis on safety and equipment security where applicable.
- Ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
- Perform student advisement to provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive information.
- Collaborate with the Office of Student Success to ensure students receive current information on tutoring and other retention programs.
- Participate in related tours and recruitment events.
- Assist in department/program planning for recruitment.
- Demonstrate willingness to serve and exhibit pleasant, courteous behavior toward students, parents, employers, media, coworkers, and general public contacts.
- Maintain flexibility and availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignments as appropriate.
- Work effectively in a team environment; commit to the mission, vision, and values of the college.

Understand and empathize with student experiences, provide personalized guidance and support, and foster open communication. - Assessment & Feedback: Create and utilize assessments to provide constructive feedback and guide learning, continually evaluating and improving teaching strategies.
- Technology Integration: Effectively use technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Verifiable work experience as an HVACR technician.
- Ability to explain and demonstrate knowledge of basic and advanced electrical schematics, components, wiring circuits, control strategies, and control devices.
- Knowledge of refrigeration cycle, pressure-temperature relationships, refrigerants, heat transfer, temperature conversions.
- Experience servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential, light commercial, and industrial HVACR equipment.
- Understanding of reverse cycle, COP calculations, thermal balance point, and differentiation between ASHP, WSHP, GHP, and GSHP.
- Safe use of tools common to the HVACR industry, cutting, bending, flaring, swaging, soldering, and brazing copper tubing.
- Installation of HVACR equipment, including use of metal, flex, and duct board duct systems.
- Expertise in load calculations, equipment selection, residential duct system design, and test, adjust, and balance the air and hydronic sides of HVAC/R systems.
- Knowledge of psychrometric concepts affecting human comfort.
- Experience with direct digital control systems and related operation of HVAC/R equipment.
- Troubleshooting tests to verify operation of HVAC controls.
- Verifiable work experience as a commercial HVACR technician.
- Ownership of NATE certifications.
Verifiable and demonstrated experience required.
