Facility/Special Event Attendants are responsible for the onsite management of Red Oak Municipal Center during private rentals and public events, enforcing all facility related policies and procedures, and providing assistance with facility set-up arrangements (tables, chairs, misc. equipment). In addition, Facility/Special Event Attendants may be assigned to assist with the set-up, tear-down, and/or operations of City of Red Oak community events.

Attendants work independently under the direction of the Administrative Assistant - Tourism and Director of Communications and Marketing.

Typical work schedules vary, approximately 5-20 hours per week depending on facility reservations. Shifts may include evening, weekend, and holiday hours on a year-round basis. Work schedules are generally distributed to assigned employees monthly with the number of hours assigned contingent on the employee's availability, level of training, overall work performance and number and type of facility reservations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides excellent customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving customer complaints in a prompt, effective, courteous manner.
  • Represents the City of Red Oak in a professional, appropriate manner at all times.
  • Exemplifies a cooperative attitude to work effectively with others.
  • Opens, closes and secures Red Oak Municipal Center for schedule public/private rentals.
  • Completes set up and tear down of facility (tables, chairs, dance floor, equipment) as assigned
  • Provides support and guidance to customers to ensure proper use of facility/equipment per City and/or Department policies and procedures.
  • Enforces facility/equipment policies and procedures with public and private users when needed.
  • Records details related to events during set up, event time and clean up, providing recommendations for improvements when appropriate.
  • Observes safe working practices and maintains storage areas in a safe and tidy condition.
  • Responds to and prepares required accident and incident reports according to established guidelines to ensure the proper health, safety and supervision of all participants using City facilities and equipment.
  • Provides occasional, as needed custodial support such as re-stocking bathrooms, emptying trash, sweeping, and mopping. In addition, custodial tasks may include sanitizing high touch surfaces (tables, chairs, door handles, etc) to meet current health standards.
  • Provides support with set-up, tear-down, and/or operations of City of Red Oak community events.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training programs, orientations, and evaluation sessions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or required by supervisor/s
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned duties independently and/or with minimal supervision
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic reporting and record-keeping techniques.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, courtesy and respect.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute multiple tasks by assessing and prioritizing work projects
  • Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to abide by and maintaining current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions.
  • Ability to safely perform all physical requirements of the job
Experience, Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • One to three years' experience operating audio and video equipment including projectors and microphones
  • Demonstrated experience of positive interactions with public
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clear driving record
