Equipment Operator (Driver License Required)
Operates heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, mowers, and stump grinders.
- Transport equipment to and from multi‑state job locations.
- Install and remove gates, fences, barbed wire, culverts, rocks, and base on highways, side roads, or right‑of‑way.
- Use a chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees; gather brush and feed brush into a wood chipper.
- Apply chemical herbicide to the right‑of‑way following brush removal; use truck‑mounted spray equipment or backpack for remote areas.
- Service and maintain truck, chipper, and equipment, keeping them clean and in specified mechanical order.
- Assist senior spray person in mixing herbicide in holding tank.
- Work around hazardous equipment, excessive noise, falling limbs, uneven ground, and adverse weather conditions while wearing appropriate protective gear.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possesses working knowledge of tree and shrub species; familiar with electrical hazards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Employees may be required to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- All job offers are subject to pre‑employment drug screening and a background check.
- Driver's License required.
- Must have transportation to and from job sites.
- Rare (≤10%):
Sitting, kneeling, crawling, color vision, climbing stairs. - Occasional (≤33%):
Stooping, squatting, climbing on/off truck, reading, pushing, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs. - Frequent (≤66%):
Walking, body twisting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, hearing limit, lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. - Continuous (≤100%):
Standing, sense of touch, vision, climbing, gripping, lifting 10 lbs–50 lbs, reaching, range of motion.
