Position Summary
Transportation Generalist

Full‑time, Day Shift. Monday – Friday. Salary $25.19 – $31.60 per hour ($52,596 – $65,980 annually).
Key Responsibilities- Perform roadside maintenance activities.
- Perform roadway surface maintenance activities.
- Service and make minor repairs to operating equipment.
- Provide traffic control.
- Perform basic construction monitoring duties and basic inspection activities.
- Other duties as required.
- Maintain roadways for snow and ice control.
- Prepare and inspect winter equipment.
- Perform preseason snow route inspection and post‑storm cleanup.
- Set up winter stockpiles and transfer anti‑icing and de‑icing chemicals.
- Install, repair, maintain, and remove snow fences; replace mailboxes.
- Maintain documentation on snow and ice data for accurate inventory reporting.
- Set up traffic control and notify dispatch of disabled vehicles.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with no Airbrake restriction. Obtain Class A CDL with no Airbrake restriction and Tanker endorsement within 6 months and maintain it.
- Pass preplacement drug test for specified substances and be registered in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s CDL Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- One year of experience in snow and ice, road surface maintenance, roadside maintenance, bridge maintenance, or related activities.
- Or, completion of a Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance Program (≥60 semester credits; or 90 quarter credits) in lieu of experience. Transcripts required.
- Working knowledge of English sufficient to communicate orally and in writing, and to maintain routine logs.
- Immediate phone access and ability to report to work within one hour of being called.
- Successful completion of a computerized Math and Reading Assessment. Level 3 in Math and Level 4 in Reading required for contingent job offers.
