Director of Institutional Research & Assessment
Brief DescriptionThe Director of Institutional Research & Assessment oversees and leads the institutional research and assessment needs of the University, providing accurate data and appropriate interpretations to support informed decision‑making. The director is responsible for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and other regulatory reporting, and works with faculty and university officers to ensure that student educational outcomes are effectively measured and achieved.
The Director reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in college or university institutional research
- Working knowledge of best practices in university institutional research and assessment
- Working knowledge of assessment and evidentiary requirements for WASC institutions
- High degree of competence in IPEDS reporting policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of FERPA regulations and confidentiality requirements
- Proficient in MS Office software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access)
- Proficient in writing SQL queries and/or working with Unidata databases
- Experience with BI dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience with assessment software preferred (e.g., Watermark Planning & Self‑Study and Course Evaluations & Surveys)
- Strong analytical and statistical analysis abilities
- High level of initiative and motivation with demonstrated collaboration and facilitation skills
- High levels of integrity and professionalism
- Personal relationship with Jesus, Christian faith, and commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ

Typical work location: indoors in a controlled environment. Tasks include extended periods of computer use. Equipment used: computer, scanner, copier, mouse, keyboard, stapler, 3‑hole punch, letter opener. Physical demands: sitting for long periods, light lifting (under 10 lbs), repetitive hand movements.
Salary Range: $70,304–$80,000 annually.
