Site Superintendent

Location: Redding, CA. Primarily assigned to active project sites, with travel based on project requirements.

US-Offsite is a modular design-build factory and general contractor helping developers deliver high-quality modular buildings with greater speed, cost certainty, and control. Through USO Building Co., our construction teams coordinate factory-built modules with site preparation, vertical construction, subcontractor operations, and project closeout to create a more integrated and predictable building experience.

US-Offsite is hiring a Site Superintendent for its construction division, USO Building Co., to lead the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of field operations from mobilization through final closeout. This role serves as the primary on-site leader and is responsible for directing subcontractors, maintaining the project schedule, coordinating modular deliveries and setting operations, enforcing safety requirements, managing site logistics, and ensuring all work complies with project documents and company standards.

The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader who takes ownership of jobsite performance, communicates clearly, solves problems under pressure, and maintains high standards for safety, quality, organization, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations and maintain responsibility for jobsite execution from mobilization through closeout
  • Execute the project schedule and develop weekly look-ahead plans to communicate upcoming work, manpower needs, deliveries, inspections, and site priorities
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, USO field labor, material deliveries, equipment, and site resources to protect project milestones
  • Identify schedule risks, field conflicts, and potential delays, and implement recovery plans in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Coordinate modular deliveries, crane operations, setting activities, staging, and installation sequencing
  • Lead the project-specific safety program in accordance with USO policies and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, jobsite inspections, and emergency response planning
  • Enforce PPE requirements, correct unsafe conditions, and report incidents immediately
  • Maintain jobsite security and safeguard tools, materials, equipment, and completed work
  • Develop and maintain site logistics plans, including access points, staging areas, delivery routes, traffic control, cranes, and equipment movement
  • Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and professionally presented jobsite
  • Verify construction work against plans, specifications, approved submittals, and manufacturer requirements through routine inspections
  • Coordinate municipal inspections, third-party testing, surveying, and required quality-control activities
  • Track punch-list items and drive timely completion before turnover
  • Protect completed work from weather, construction activity, damage, and interference from other trades
  • Direct subcontractors and USO field personnel while verifying adequate manpower, supervision, and jobsite performance
  • Lead recurring subcontractor coordination meetings and resolve sequencing, access, scope, and field conflicts
  • Communicate professionally with owners, inspectors, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project staff
  • Complete accurate daily reports documenting manpower, work completed, deliveries, inspections, safety activity, weather, delays, and jobsite conditions
  • Review, verify, and approve time-and-material tickets, field time sheets, delivery tickets, and supporting cost documentation
  • Maintain current field copies of RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, and approved changes
  • Document field conditions that may result in RFIs, change orders, back charges, or schedule impacts
  • Maintain organized field records, including photographs, inspection logs, delivery documentation, testing records, and project as-builts
  • Support warranty documentation, closeout packages, final inspections, and turnover requirements
  • Participate in weekly project meetings and provide clear updates regarding schedule, safety, quality, cost impacts, and outstanding field items

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Superintendent, General Superintendent, or comparable site-supervision roles
  • 3+ years of direct hands-on field construction experience
  • Experience overseeing commercial, multifamily, modular, design-build, or general contracting projects preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from mobilization through punch-list and closeout
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, jobsite safety practices, site security, and emergency response procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change documentation
