Responsibilities

• Marketing and communicating the activity:
• Plan to announce both the start and the end of the activity and provide updates, as relevant.
• Create digital (PNG/JPEG formats only) and print flyer(s) for the weekly newsletter and posting in designated spots.
• Announcements (morning audio and for The Den)
• Regular meetings between either 7:00am - 8:00am or 3:00pm - 4:00pm (or later, if applicable). Be in location prior to start. If after school, stay with all students until all are picked up.
• Communicate via Parent Square or Email with the parent of the club members regarding schedule, schedule changes and cancellations. Please give as much notice as possible when canceling and be sure this information is communicated to the parents, not just announced in the building.
• Setup and cleanup the area used for the activity.
• Request custodial assistance with sufficient notice, when appropriate. Maintain roster and attendance of students, submit or share at midpoint and end of activity.
• Maintain a timesheet of hours activity for prep time and meetings. Submit or share the timesheet at midpoint and end of activity.
• Instructional responsibilities: developing content and the writing process, journalism ethics, design and layout, video, photography, and artwork to support stories.
• Managerial responsibilities: scheduling and deadlines, editing and proofreading, and publishing.

Minimum of 30 Hours

½ Stipend Paid in December, ½ Paid in June
