About the Position
Locum - Physician - Oncology Redding, CA
Join our dedicated team as a Locum Physician specializing in Oncology and Hematology, providing essential outpatient care at a prominent Infusion Center. This pivotal role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality cancer care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments, while working alongside a skilled midlevel provider. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes through diagnosis, staging, treatment, and symptom management, all within a collaborative hospital setting.
This position is ideal for Board Eligible or Board Certified Hematologists/Oncologists committed to excellence and eager to make a meaningful difference in patient lives. You will enjoy a flexible schedule Monday through Friday, with varied provider coverage during scheduled dates from March through July, 2026. This contract ensures you have the support and resources to succeed, including competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
Required Skills:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology
Proven experience in outpatient chemotherapy and infusion therapies
Proficiency with EMRs: iKnowmed (Clinic) and Cerner (Infusion)
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in hematology/oncology
Excellent communication and patient management abilities
Ability to work independently as a solo provider with a midlevel support team
Knowledge of hospital consult procedures and admission protocols
Nice to Have
Skills:
Previous experience working in a hospital-based outpatient setting
Familiarity with therapeutic procedures such as blood/platelet transfusions and hormone therapy
Experience managing a diverse range of tumor types
Additional certifications in Oncology or Hematology
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Active licensing and credentialing in California
Minimum of 2 years of oncology/hematology practice experience in outpatient settings
Other Requirements:
Must be licensed or eligible to obtain licensure in California within 30-60 days
Ability to work scheduled hours and adapt to patient volume fluctuations
Willingness to participate in hospital call coverage and consults as needed
Commitment to uphold safety and compliance standards in a healthcare environment

Hourly Pay Rate: $0.00 (Compensation details: $625-$660 per hour, holiday pay $937.50-$990 per hour, orientation $312.50-$330, all inclusive of malpractice)
