Description of Basic Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Community College District is an inclusive organization that strives for equity and equal opportunity and serves a diverse student population. Placement on the current Faculty Salary Schedule is commensurate with education and experience.
- Full-time instructional faculty are contracted to work 175 days per year, including 164 days of classroom instruction and 11 days of professional growth.
- Instructors may have up to 18 weeks off per year during summer and winter intercessions;
Fall and Spring semesters have approximately 82 instructional days each. - Starting Salary: $63,500.44 - $/year on the Full-Time Faculty Salary Schedule;
Salary Range: $63,500.44 - $/year on the schedule. - $2,000/year doctorate differential;
State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).
START DATE:
Anticipated to start at the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester. May be expected to teach online and/or at the Tehama Campus in Red Bluff.

Dean of Arts, Communications, and Social Sciences or designee.
Responsibilities designated below are primary to the instructor role.
Classroom Responsibilities:
- Meet classes/laboratories as assigned within the academic calendar.
- Develop and implement instruction for each class and laboratory period, consistent with the official course outline and District guidelines.
- For online and hybrid courses, maintain online course components, including asynchronous or synchronous content delivery as required.
- Provide regular student-student and student-instructor contact for online and hybrid courses.
- Distribute a syllabus during the first week of class communicating course description, objectives, grading, testing, attendance, and other requirements.
- Provide regular, timely feedback to students and return graded work promptly.
- Assign final grades in accordance with District policy, administrative procedures, California Education Code, and Title 5.
- Respect student rights as specified in District policy and applicable laws.
- Submit requisitions for textbooks and instructional materials timely and with cost considerations for students.
- Refer students to tutoring and related services when appropriate.
- Supervise students in off-campus activities when required by the course or load.
- Provide academic assistance during scheduled office hours.
- Participate in professional development to stay current in the discipline.
- Submit required administrative paperwork, including student learning outcomes, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Discipline-specific classroom responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Schedule and communicate office hours clearly to students and staff.
- Participate in District governance processes and curriculum/program review cycles.
- Contribute to selection processes and attend department/division meetings.
- Assess learning outcomes and participate in outcomes processes.
- Engage in professional development to improve pedagogy and student success.
- Maintain flex requirements and participate in evaluation processes per the faculty collective bargaining agreement.
- Keep official records and comply with District policies on property and safety.
- Report absences and recommend instructional supplies and equipment as needed.
- Fulfill all obligations established in the current collective bargaining agreement.
- Discipline-specific additional responsibilities as assigned.
