Descriptionof Basic Functions and Responsibilities
The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Community College District is a collaborative and inclusive organization that strives for equity and equal opportunity and serves a diverse student population. Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the full-time college instructor to teach classes and participate in processes that promote continuous improvement of instruction and programs, student success and completion, and advancement of the college mission and values.
Responsibilities- Full-time instructional faculty are contracted to work 175 days per year, including 164 days of classroom instruction and 11 days of professional growth and development.
- Instructors have up to 18 weeks off per year during summer and winter intercessions;
Fall and Spring semesters each contain ~17 weeks of instruction with ~82 instructional days. - Hours vary based on course schedules; the academic calendar is available at the district website.

- Starting Salary: $63,500.44 - $/year on the Full-Time Faculty Salary Schedule;
Salary Range: $63,500.44 - $/year on the schedule. - $2,000/year doctorate differential;
State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). - Start date anticipated for Fall 2026; may be required to teach online and/or at Tehama Campus in Red Bluff.

Dean of Business, Agriculture, & Career Technical Education or designee.
Specific responsibilities are primary to the instructor role and include classroom instruction and related duties appropriate to the course outlines and District guidelines.
Specific Responsibilities- Meet classes and laboratories as assigned within the academic calendar.
- Develop and implement instruction for each class and laboratory period, consistent with official course outlines and District guidelines.
- For online and hybrid courses, maintain online course components and ensure regular student contact.
- Distribute syllabi in the first week of class communicating course description, objectives, grading, testing, attendance, and requirements.
- Provide regular, timely feedback and return graded work promptly.
- Assign final grades in accordance with District policy, administrative procedures, California Education Code, and Title 5.
- Respect student rights as specified by policy and applicable laws; manage textbooks and instructional materials within cost considerations.
- Refer students to tutoring and related services; supervise off-campus activities as required by course load.
- Provide academic assistance during scheduled office hours; engage in professional development to stay current in the discipline.
- Submit required administrative paperwork including student learning outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Discipline-specific responsibilities as assigned.
- Schedule and communicate office hours clearly to students and division staff.
- Participate in District governance, curriculum review, program review, and planning processes.
- Participate in selection/hiring processes as needed; attend department and division meetings.
- Assess learning outcomes and engage in outcomes processes; pursue professional development for improved pedagogy.
