ClassificationPlacement on the current Faculty Salary Schedule is commensurate with previous education and experience. Full-time instructional faculty are contracted to work 175 days per year including 164 days of classroom instruction and 11 days of professional growth and development. Instructors have up to 18 weeks off per year during summer and winter intercessions. The Fall and Spring semesters each contain 17 weeks of instruction with approximately 82 instructional days.
The Fall semester begins in late August and ends in mid-December. The Spring semester begins in mid-January and ends in mid-May. The number of hours worked each day varies with course schedules. $2,000/year doctorate differential. State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).

This position is anticipated to start at the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester. May be expected to teach online and/or at the Tehama Campus in Red Bluff.

Specific ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities designated below are primary to the instructor role.
- Classroom Responsibilities:
- Meet classes/laboratories as assigned within the academic calendar. Develop and implement instruction for each class and laboratory period, consistent with the official course outline and District guidelines.
- For online and hybrid courses, maintain online course components, including asynchronous or synchronous content delivery, as required by the teaching assignment.
- For online and hybrid courses, provide regular student-student and student-instructor contact.
- During the first week of class, distribute a syllabus for each course to communicate to students the course description, objectives, grading, testing, attendance, and other requirements, in accordance with District guidelines on syllabus content.
- Provide regular, timely feedback to students; return all graded work in a timely fashion.
- Assign final grades for courses as required by District policy, administrative procedures, California Education Code, and Title 5.
- Demonstrate respect for student rights as specified in District policy and applicable laws.
