ScheduleSchool-year position (181 days); 8 paid hours per day when school is in session for students with an additional half hour unpaid for lunch. Monday through Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Position SummaryThe high school Security Team is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors throughout the school day and during after-school activities. Security Team members monitor the campus, manage access points, assist with student supervision, and respond to incidents as they occur.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and members of the community
- Greet and screen visitors to the school
- General supervision of corridors, common areas, lavatories, parking lots and school-grounds
- Rotate throughout the building at the different stations.
- Monitor students during lunch periods
- Escort students to different parts of the school
- Assist with student dismissal at the end of the school day
- Follow the directions of the Security Supervisor or School Administration
- Assist school administrators and staff with safety-related concerns
- Assume other duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor or School Administration
- High School diploma or its equivalent; college degree preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Relates well to high school students, colleagues, and members of the public
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Prior security experience preferred
- Ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality
- Willingness to provide security for concerts/plays/other after school events
- Formal letter of application
