JRMS Science Olympiad Club Liaison

Position: JRMS Science Olympiad Club Liaison Qualifications

CT Certified Teacher;
An interview may be necessary

• Work with the lead volunteer coach to create opportunities for students
• Collaborate with volunteer coaches and mentors to organize practice sessions
• Collaborate with the lead volunteer coach to set expectations for students and problem‑solve throughout the season
• Guide students through their learning process
• Assist the lead volunteer coach with communication to families and students
• Manage the team budget
• Submit grant applications for funding to the JRMS PTA and the Redding Education Foundation
• Schedule team meetings and secure a space within the building for practice
• Attend the State Tournament (Saturday in March)
• Work with the bookkeeper to manage the Science Olympiad/Student Activities account
• Meet with the principal to share information as needed and provide end‑of‑year observations

• Two‑hour sessions twice a week (4:00 - 6:0)
• Available from September to March
• Approximately 45 after‑school sessions
• Attend the CT State Tournament in March (Saturday)
