DescriptionMaster of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) Department welcomes qualified instructors to join the adjunct faculty pool. The department is interested in hiring individuals able to offer courses in the MACP course catalog. Simpson adjunct instructors are expected to deliver courses in a variety of modalities— in‑person, online, hyflex (hybrid)—utilizing Canvas (LMS) and classroom technology.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field
- Current professional licensure (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) preferred
- Personal relationship with Jesus, a vibrant Christian faith, and a commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ

- Maintain the confidentiality of information, data and records
- Properly exercise tact, diplomacy, discretion, and professional judgment

- Supervises employees in accordance with Simpson University policies and procedures
- Support the overflow needs of other departments within the respective university area
- Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor
- Teach assigned courses, including class preparation, instruction, grading, and office hours
- Deliver curriculum for courses such as counseling techniques, ethical issues, substance abuse, or human development
- Grade assignments, provide timely feedback, and mentor students regarding professional development
- Prepare lectures, class activities, and update course materials to meet accreditation standards
- Provide additional academic support to students as needed
- Foster a classroom environment that supports inclusivity, engagement, and growth
- Learn and utilize the learning management systems of Canvas and Colleague
- Continuously review and improve teaching materials and methodologies
- Participate in ongoing professional development and assessment activities
- Comply with all university policies, procedures, and expectations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director. Course modalities, schedules, and assignments are determined by the department in collaboration with the adjunct professor
