Assistant Principal
The Assistant Principal supports the Superintendent and Site Principals in leading a positive, safe, and academically focused learning environment that meets the needs of every student, staff member, and family in the Pacheco Union Elementary School District. This position splits time across the District's two sites — Prairie School (preschool–grade
3) and Pacheco School (grades 4–8), located approximately five miles apart — partnering with the Principal at each school. The Assistant Principal serves as both an instructional leader and a champion of school culture: providing instructional coaching, leading the District's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, delivering behavior support for teachers and students, supporting curriculum adoption and implementation, overseeing school safety, and strengthening family and community engagement.
The Assistant Principal acts in the capacity of the Principal during a Principal's absence from either site.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree in education or a related field preferred
- Experience:
Minimum of four (4) years of successful classroom teaching experience; instructional coaching or teacher-leadership experience preferred.
-Possession of, or demonstrated progress toward, a valid California Administrative Services Credential.
-Valid and appropriate California Teaching Credential.
-Must pass a Department of Justice background check and pre-employment physical examination prior to employment.
