Job Description

The Music Department at Simpson University seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach music classes or lessons. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in music as demonstrated through educational and/or professional experience

• Support the overflow needs of other departments within the respective university area
• Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by the President

Essential Functions:

• Teach classes/lessons as assigned and fulfill teaching responsibilities (as needed) including class/lesson preparation, instruction, grading, and office hours
• Provide additional academic support to students as needed
• Foster a classroom environment that supports student engagement and growth
• Comply with all university policies, procedures, and expectations
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair
