Description of Basic Functions and Responsibilities
OVERVIEWThe Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District (Shasta College) sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west. The area provides a wide array of outdoor amenities and activities with miles of hiking and biking trails, national parks, two lakes, and the Sacramento River. The main campus is located in the city of Redding, population 90,000.

To provide highly responsible library instructional and research support functions involved in the organization, direction and coordination of activities related to the Library. Employees in this classification receive limited supervision within a broad framework of policies and procedures and exercise a high degree of independence and initiative. This job class is responsible for providing administrative and technical assistance in support of Library operations.
This job class requires specialized knowledge of library automation procedures combining traditional operations and the emerging technologies.
Range 26 on the current Classified Salary Schedule, 40 hours per week, 11 months per year with contract days assigned throughout 12 months. Work assignment hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
SUPERVISOR:Associate Dean of Learning, Library, and Special Programs or designee.
Typical Duties, Knowledge and Ability- Demonstrates an expertise with advanced computer skills, electronic information resources, bibliographic utilities, search systems and their supporting technology (hardware and software), the Internet, and integrated library systems, while understanding their relationship with traditional resources.
