Under the direction of the Senior Transportation Electrical Engineer, the incumbent installs, configures, tests, and troubleshoots ITS equipment that are part of the district's Transportation Management System (TMS).
Responsibilities include:
- Independent layout work and engagement at journey level for process control networks, telecommunications, microwave communications, video display, electrical, and mechanical systems associated with the Transportation Management Center (TMC) and Field Element Network (FEN).
- Preparation, construction, and installation of ITS field equipment for the district's capital support program.
- Assistance in preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for ITS facility projects.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by the Electrical Engineering Technician II exam score or, if not currently eligible, by being on the state examination list. Interested candidates should refer to the exam instructions for eligibility requirements.
