Currently, we are seeking a qualified
** Structural Engineer
** to work collaboratively with our Fabrication Shop in
** Anderson, California**. This position is not remote and will require living in the commutable Anderson area.
** About the Position*
* * Design structures and foundations for sawmill, kiln, cogeneration, and planermill equipment and buildings
* Develop and improve lumber processing equipment
* Prepare plans, drawings, and calculations that will be submitted to county, city, or other governing bodies
* Facilitate the smooth and quick approval of plans
* Effectively model detailed concepts and designs using 3D modeling software
* Provide leadership and direction to fabricators, assemblers, machinists, and shop personnel
* Collaborate with company operations to understand complete application and needs
* Coordinate activities relative to the development of new equipment
* Learn and take on engineering projects with a mechanical emphasis when structural emphasis is not needed
* Work to continuously learn and improve knowledge of industry and equipment
** Qualifications*
* * Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural
* 4 years’ experience in structural with familiarity with wood, steel, masonry and concrete buildings including structural calculation, foundation design, detailing and construction administration
* California P.E. or S.E. license with ability to get reciprocity in Oregon and Washington
* Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and willingness to learn Solid Works
* Knowledge of the structural provisions of the California Building Code, IBC, and ASCE 7
* Working knowledge of structural steel, welding, and foundation design
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel
* Demonstrated ability to contribute creative solutions and succeed in an innovative environment
* Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
