Redding Electric Utility is looking for a new Senior System Operator - Transmission & Distribution. The Senior System Operator, acting as a reliable lead in the Power Control Center, will guide staff, support shift operations, and maintain safe, continuous system reliability. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of real-time power system coordination and transmission & distribution operations.
We’re Looking for Someone to- Supervise Electric Utility System Operators and Electric Utility Assistant System Operators, or other assigned personnel.
- In case of trouble, provide the redistribution of loads and required switching to ensure maintenance of service. In the event of a system outage, regularly inform relevant parties of system outage statuses and provide periodic updates for the duration of the outage.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable NERC and WECC reliability standards for the Transmission & Distribution System Operator desk.
- NERC Certification in Reliability Operator, Balancing, Interchange and Transmission Operator, or Transmission Operator
- Five (5) years of power dispatching experience or seven (7) years of relevant electric utility operations experience
