Associate Civil Engineer

The Public Works Department is looking for a new Associate Civil Engineer. Become a key player on the City of Redding’s engineering team and help build Redding’s future through successful capital projects.

• Design and prepare plans and specifications for capital improvement projects
• Review the engineering plans and work of consultants and contractors
• Prepare detailed specifications for the purchase of materials or major equipment
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of specific reports and studies for Council presentation and for other City-sponsored study groups
• Conduct field inspections of projects to ensure contract enforcement
• Prepare oral and/or written reports for staff and management as appropriate

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible, relevant experience using civil engineering principles
• Registration as a professional engineer (PE) in the State of California or in another state that has reciprocity.
