Parking Enforcement Officer

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology (ALPR, photographs) to enforce metered parking throughout the City in limited parking zone areas and issue citations for vehicles in violation.
• Issue citations for handicap violations throughout the City, such as on-street and off-street parking lots.
• Issue citations for on-view violations in fire and loading zones.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job classification.

• Knowledge of Redding Municipal Code parking ordinances and California Vehicle Code parking laws.
• Ability to interact effectively with the public and employees.
• Ability to read, understand, and effectively enforce parking laws and regulations.
• Ability to write legibly and prepare reports.
• Ability to maintain effective public relations; work under minimum supervision.
• All applicants must successfully complete a detailed background investigation.

• Typical education would include a high school diploma, or equivalent.
• Typical experience would include operation of a motor vehicle.
• Possession of a California driver's license, or ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment.
