Job Overview:
A distinguished California-based law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join its legal team in a full-time capacity. This position is open to candidates located anywhere, as it offers a flexible remote or hybrid work model. Location:

Redding, California

Duties:

  • Represent clients in all stages of workers’ compensation defense litigation
  • Manage case files from inception through resolution
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Perform legal research and case analysis
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
  • Utilize digital tools and maintain case files in a paperless environment
  • Requirements:

    • 1 year of experience in workers’ compensation defense (preferred)
    • Familiarity with the Defense Base Act and Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (a plus)
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases efficiently
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Comfortable with web-based case management systems

    Education:

    Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

    Certifications:

    Active Member in Good Standing with the State Bar of California

    Skills:

    • Legal research and writing
    • Strategic litigation planning and execution
    • Time and task management in a paperless setting
    • Digital proficiency in legal software platforms
