The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District (Shasta College) sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west. The area provides a wide array of outdoor amenities and activities with miles of hiking and biking trails, national parks, two lakes, and the Sacramento River. The main campus is located in the city of Redding, population 90,000.

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accounting Supervisor plans, organizes, directs, and supervises the fiscal activities for the Shasta College Business Office. The Accounting Supervisors assures compliance with District policies, procedures, and accounting principles. Employees in this classification train, coordinate, supervise, and formally evaluate the work of assigned employees. This job class exercises responsibility for the planning, assigning, and supervising the work of Accounting Technicians and the workflow of the Business Office.

Employees in this classification receive minimal supervision within a framework of laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The job class functions at a full supervisory level, is overtime exempt, and requires effective organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

CLASSIFICATION: Range 30 on the Administrative Confidential Salary Schedule, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. Work assignment hours are 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday.
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director of Business Services or designee

Typical Duties, Knowledge and Ability
Essential Functions:
  • Plans, organizes, and supervises fiscal operations of the District’s Business Office, ensuring compliance and timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Assists in developing and implementing new or revised District accounting and fiscal policies and procedures; assures the preparation of regular and special fiscal reports and review for accuracy and compliance; prepares a variety of detailed and complex analytic and informational reports.
