Sierra Pacific Industries is a fourth-generation family-owned company. We are one of the largest lumber and millwork producers in the United States, with more than 6,000 employees working at state-of-the-art sawmills and other facilities, including manufacturing, custom wood-framed windows, fabrication, millwork, veneer, cogeneration, trucking, forestry, and other operations. We are seeking a qualified Planer Operator to work collaboratively at our Burlington sawmill in Mt.
Vernon, Washington

- Sharpen planer knives
- Perform preventative maintenance on planer
- Recognize, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical defects
- Repair, set up, and adjust planer for required sizes
- Recognize defects in lumber
- Perform duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
- The work is fast-paced and can, at times, be demanding
- Work may consist of various shifts, with some overtime, weekend, and holiday work during busy production times
- 2 years experience operating a planer
- Lumber manufacturing experience is a plus
- Knowledge of all planer functions and lumber grades and sizes
- Safety-oriented work history
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
