Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery
Location: Redding, CA
Pay: $3,150 to $3,350 per week
Shift: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
About the PositionWe’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D) to deliver outstanding patient‑centered care in Redding, CA. Join a compassionate Labor & Delivery team where your clinical expertise and dedication help bring new lives into the world while providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers before, during, and after delivery
- Assess maternal and fetal health throughout labor using fetal monitoring and clinical assessments
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments
- Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Monitor labor progression and respond promptly to changes in maternal or fetal condition
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and breastfeeding
- Care for mothers and newborns immediately following delivery
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric teams, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care throughout the childbirth experience
- Active RN License in California
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification required
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
- Experience caring for high‑risk obstetric patients preferred
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced Labor & Delivery environment
- Commitment to providing exceptional, family‑centered care
