Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU / Trauma ICU

Redding, CA | Acute Care

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

• Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2
• Manage complex trauma, neuro/stroke, and head injury patients; experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies is required
• Titrate vasopressor and sedation drips as ordered by the intensivist team
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips (GE monitors); unit secretary will run strips but RN must interpret
• Operate and monitor ventilator equipment, including Hamilton vents, in coordination with assigned Respiratory Therapy staff
• Float as needed to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surg units; CICU assignments will involve ICU-level patients

• Active RN license valid in California
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2–3 years of ICU/Trauma ICU specialty experience
• Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies required; candidates without this experience must have documented experience with post-tPA patients
• Must pass an onsite proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (pass/fail)
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills

• Previous travel nursing experience, particularly at larger, fast-paced facilities
• PALS certification preferred; will be required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
• Experience with trauma patient populations and robust interventional radiology programs

• Traveler-friendly unit with 24/7 intensivist and house supervisor support, dedicated charge nurses who do not take patient assignments, and Respiratory Therapy assigned directly to the ICU
• Schedules are made approximately 6 weeks in advance, offering predictability in a dynamic, high-acuity clinical environment
