Lucente Cucina Prep Cook

Exciting opportunity to join the upcoming and new Lucente Cucina at the Holiday Inn Redding as a Prep Cook. We have full-time and part-time openings.

We need a food prep worker who knows their way around a kitchen with minimal supervision. You’ll be responsible for stocking, preparing, and measuring condiments and slicing, dicing, and mixing foods for cooking. You’ll need to follow all safety protocols in the kitchen and keep your workstation clean and equipment sanitized for the duration of your shift. You must be able to read recipe directions and labels in English and operate a variety of kitchen equipment, including sharp knives and measuring tools.

Some lifting, pulling, and bending are required. Some kitchen experience and a 2-year associate's degree are preferred but not required. If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to meet.

• Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly
• Wash, sort, prep, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes, using condiments, vegetables, and proteins, and mixing sauces for use in various meals
• Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary
• Adhere to COVID-19 safety protocol measures in all food preparation areas and follow all food safety guidelines in the kitchen workstations
• Clean food stations and prep areas and sanitize equipment and kitchen utensils after closing to maintain proper hygiene

• Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, as well as lift 35 to 50 pounds, pull heavier items, and bend frequently
• You have the basic skills necessary to prep food for a chef/cook with minimal supervision expected
• Experienced in the proper handling of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and other kitchen tools
• Flexibility to work weekend hours and holidays if necessary, as well as some extended hours
• Understanding of how to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English

$18 - $20 hourly

The Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center Redding is centrally located within Shasta County businesses and attractions, offering the perfect location for corporate and leisure travelers alike. The hotel has a little over 8,000 square feet of customizable event and meeting space.
