Autos Cashier

General Position Summary & Responsibilities

This role works as part of a retail sales team to provide best in class customer care. The position can advance to Parts Specialist and ultimately Retail Sales Lead through strong product knowledge, a solid work ethic, and positive performance evaluations. The Autos Cashier must have a proactive selling spirit and excel both individually and in a team to meet store sales goals.

The cashier is present during peak customer traffic—including weekends, sale days, or other high traffic occasions—according to the store schedule. Responsibilities include promoting sales and service, maintaining Pick‑n‑Pull policies and procedures, and consistently being pleasant, respectful, and helpful. The cashier also participates in safety and loss‑prevention initiatives.

• Work safely at all times, promote the Pick‑n‑Pull safety culture, and wear required PPE.
• Collaborate with teammates to achieve individual and shared goals.
• Welcome customers promptly and proactively engage to meet their needs.
• Complete sales training, apply the Pick‑n‑Pull 5‑Step Sales Model, and continually build skills.
• Follow loss‑prevention, risk‑management, quality‑assurance, and cash‑handling guidelines.
• Seek manager support when a customer situation requires additional leadership.
• Support store operations with housekeeping and maintenance duties such as cleaning, battery handling, and floor mopping.
• Uphold integrity in all interactions and transactions.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The cashier works both indoors and outdoors in an auto salvage yard with exposure to wind, dust, automotive fluids, and machinery noise. The schedule is variable and may include weekends, holidays, and peak sales days. Proper PPE use is required.

• Customer service experience or the ability to perform effectively in customer‑facing roles.
• Availability for a flexible retail schedule that includes weekends, holidays, occasional overtime, and location assignments by management.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

• Experience handling customer payments across multiple payment methods.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• Familiarity with automotive parts and basic product details.

Regular standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 40 lbs are required. Manual dexterity is essential for handling tools, cleaning, and task‑list duties. Good vision and the capacity to remain on feet for the entire shift are necessary.
